For the life of me, I cannot understand the appeal of someone like Michels. I get that his dog whistling and riling up the base plays well in some corners. but there is zero substance there. Its like a Potemkin village of GOP messaging.
And as my TL fills with Oregon friends gushing about how much they love vote-by-mail (and it really is awesome), I find myself more and more salty driving by the ballot box in my town that will be again covered with a trash bag and apology note come Tuesday.
