The Republican-controlled state legislature passed new maps proposed by the Democratic governor. His decision to sign or veto awaits. It's a difficult, important decision. We break it all down.
Agreed. Great article. This unfair advantage has been so normalized for so long here you almost forget how morally bankrupt it is to have a party that actively works against functioning, democratic elections.
I don't want the GOP to get a compromise on anything here. They couldn't be bothered to reach across th aisle anytime during the 10+ years they had a boot on the neck of this state.
I question whether the US Supremes have the stomach (sub other body parts, if you will) to invalidate any ruling based on whether a judge should recuse, given the conflicts exposed on current court members, but then again, they're pretty brazen.
I agree. It’s the best way to ensure Wisconsin has fair maps through 2030. If the court picks a map, a conservative court as soon as 2025 could throw it out and put in a worse one.
This fine piece is more than journalism. Bravo...and thank you!
Thanks for this information and some optimism
