DISCUSSION THREAD: Debate Week in Milwaukee
It’s here. It’s discombobulating. Let’s recombobulate.
The Republican Debate is happening on Wednesday, Aug. 23. It’s the first debate of the presidential primary and needless to say, it’s a pretty big deal.
The field of candidates is now officially set. The eight candidates on stage, as announced on Monday night, will be:
Doug Burgum
Chris Christie
Ron DeSantis
Nikki Haley
Asa Hutchinson
Mike Pence
Vivek Ramaswamy
Tim Scott
(Yes, there is one very notable absence.)
Fox News, the hosts of the debate along with the RNC, has released information on where the candidates will be positioned on stage at Fiserv Forum.
This … should be interesting.
And The Recombobulation Area will be there at Fiserv Forum to cover the debate. That’s right, we have received our official press credentials and will be in the building.
After I got those credentials, I took a lap around the Deer District and Fiserv Forum and the west side of downtown Milwaukee today. There was very much a “calm before the storm” type of vibe. You can see a few of the photos I took there on The Recombobulation Area’s Instagram in our stories.
This is a big week for Milwaukee, for Wisconsin, and for the nation. With all that’s happening, we’re going to have a whole lot to break down and discuss in the coming days.
Frankly, it’s a little discombobulating. So let’s recombobulate together.
What are your thoughts bout the debate right now? What are your expectations for what happens on stage? What are you anticipating for protest activity? How will Trump’s absence impact the event? What does this all mean for Milwaukee? For Wisconsin?
Let us know what you think in the comments and let’s talk about this big debate.
I plan to check Xitter a few times during, and read reputable blogs after the debate. I do not wish to subject myself to the immigrant-bashing, LGBTQ panic, and assorted "woke, woke, woke" nonsense.
Plus I'm at a cabin on one of northern Wisconsin's lovely lakes this week! Why discombobulate when I can pontoon or just have a beverage and hear the loons call.
It will be debilitatingly stupid. And largely pointless, other than getting to see how debased and irrelevant to normal life the Reputation political process has become.
Ralf pretty much took the words out of my mouth, except I don't get to do anything cool like hang out on a lake. God help you for sitting through this stream of verbal diarrhea. I've got projects in the workshop to deal with. Looking forward to your report
