Milwaukee Record: 'Wauwatosa is at the core of Republicans’ ugly partisan gerrymander'
The key city to understanding the ultra-partisan nature of Wisconsin’s newly adopted legislative maps is Wauwatosa.

The new legislative maps that were eventually adopted by the conservative majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court took the worst state legislative gerrymander in the nation and made it even worse.
But where, exactly, did it get worse?
The answer centers around the Milwaukee County suburb of Wauwatosa.
This week’s column, published in partnership with Milwaukee Record, takes an in-depth look at where and how this supposedly “least change” map actually changes drastically to impact the Milwaukee area, making districts less competitive, particularly in the rapidly shifting city of Wauwatosa.
“‘Least change’ is a lot of change in the areas that have shifted blue in order to benefit Republicans,” said State Rep. Robyn Vining of Wauwatosa.
