There’s an election next week!
Early voting is underway and there’s going to be a whole lot on the ballot that you should be paying attention to, no matter where you are in Wisconsin. So first, head over to myvote.wi.gov to see what’s on your ballot.
Statewide, there are two referendum questions that would amend the state constitution (I wrote about why you should vote “no” on both), along with the presidential primary (which could see anti-Trump protest votes on the GOP side and “uninstructed” votes regarding the Biden administration’s policy on the war on Gaza on the Democratic side).
All over the state, too, there are many school board races dominated by right-wing culture war politics that continue to be especially concerning.
But for our purposes — being the Milwaukee-based publication that we are — we are going to focus on what’s on the ballot in our neck of the woods.
So, we partnered with our friends over at Milwaukee Record to publish this breakdown of local elections here in Milwaukee, from the Common Council to the County Board to wondering why exactly we vote to elect comptrollers to the MPS referendum.
