Someday soon, I will tune my radio dial to my favorite alternative rock radio station, and for the first time in forever, I will not hear a Green Day song.
Well, we can hope that either one of the existing stations will flip to the same or similar format, or gets sold to someone who will. Trick is to figure out how to make it make money, MRA has been losing money hand over both fists for years. 102.1 is just a number. It's the people that make a station and I hope they find their way to work in this market again.
Dan, great piece. Grew up in MKE and go back on occasion. 102.1 was always the station of choice … excluding my middle school days tuning into late night WMSE in hopes of catching some PiL, Dead Kennedy’s or Bon Ton Society. That’s a huge bummer - hopefully someone will pick up the Rock.
