I don’t think this would’ve been possible in any other city, either. Not just because we’re named after an iconic Milwaukee location — the local landmark that is the actual Recombobulation Area at Mitchell Airport — but because the DNA of this city is part of our publication. This city is remarkably resilient, and the resilience of this city is part of why I will always believe that there is always going to be a way to do better. This city, to me, is a constant source of hope.
It’s also a city with a real sense of humor, which is part of why I love Milwaukee Day so much. This “holiday” was born in 2010 as a half-joking idea between friends Andy Silverman, Brent Gohde, and Timm Gable, Milwaukee Day has grown over the past decade to become a signature celebration in a city that loves to celebrate.
And this homegrown holiday really does come at the perfect time. Spring is finally here, the ice and snow has melted, trees and flowers are in bloom, and the glory that is Milwaukee Summer is right around the corner. And as always, our friends over at Milwaukee Record have compiled a comprehensive list of all of the events and sales and celebrations happening in and around the city all day.

This glorious made-up holiday has been a big part of our story here at The Recombobulation Area.
