The recent decisions on funding for American Family Field and the I-94 East-West widening and reconstruction embrace the status quo in the area, instead of aiming for a bold transformation.
That’s pretty disappointing, frankly. I hope we don’t look back on this era and the decisions made at this time and wonder, what if? Because it’s almost like we never even got to the part of the process where people threw out pie-in-the-sky ideas for what this area could be. And this is an area that has a ton of potential.
So, in that spirit, we put together some ideas for how a “Beer District,” and additional transformation on the west side of Milwaukee might look, completely with a (purely hypothetical) “Bob Uecker Boulevard” and “Bernie Brewer’s Beer Garden” and a whole lot more.
